Liberty Gas is one of the largest independently owned heating companies in the UK, and has been operating since 1969.

Our primary area of business is delivering 24/7/365 domestic gas service, responsive maintenance and installations for domestic and communal gas properties within the Social Housing Sector. The company’s portfolio covers 220,000 domestic properties and non-domestic sites, to 42 Housing Associations and Local Authorities.

The number of properties on each contract varies by client; currently the smallest contract Liberty Gas Group Ltd manages has less than 900 homes, whereas the largest contract is for 24,000 homes, operating from Leeds to Plymouth. We currently have over 40 service and maintenance contracts and carry out over 10’000 heating installations a year.

We are Specialists in Gas, Renewable Energy solutions, Mechanical and Electrical Installation and Maintenance services business and operate from four main sites across the country; our head office in Liverpool and our divisional offices are in Enfield, Sheffield and Portsmouth. We also have contract specific offices across the country.

The Liberty Gas Team includes gas engineers, plumbers and electricians, alongside builders, joiners and roofers giving it the skill sets and operating capacity to provide clients with a whole-house solution. All Staff are trained to an exemplary standard and are Gas safe registered and as a minimum ACS qualified. We are also registered members with: NICEIC, HETAS, REAL and APHC.

Our Background of Where We Are Today

A number of independent Property Maintenance Gas Servicing and Domestic Installation businesses were acquired by Spice plc during the late 2000’s. The Companies acquired by Spice plc were established businesses with long standing and established relationships within the Social Housing Sector and included Apollo Heating, GMT, Gas Call, Pargas and Homerton Heating. Mono Services, an established Responsive and Voids Repairs Company were also acquired.

Spice amalgamated all the above named companies under one national brand name and in April 2009 the Liberty Group was formed.

In February 2010, Spice plc made the decision to concentrate on their core utilised base and as a consequence, the Liberty Group was sold in May 2010 to Booth Securities Limited. December 2012 saw a name change from Booth Securities Limited to Liberty Group Investments Limited.

The owners of Liberty Group Investments Limited have significant experience and knowledge of the Gas Repairs and Maintenance industry and working with Social Landlords, developed over a period of 40 years in the sector.

Liberty now operates via three divisions which are: Liberty Gas – Liberty Energy – Liberty Maintenance.
